CURRICULUM
SEI is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi.
The curriculum distinguishes itself by its seamless alignment with the demands of the 21st century skills which is characterised by a rapid technological advancement and digital transformation. The emphasis is on the practical application and hands on learning experiences. The teachers are gradually trained to become instrumental in a larger measure, to make this institution at the leadership edge in school education by developing individuals who will lead the future; by providing them cutting edge possibilities to be creative, skilled, flexible, tech-enabled and adaptable lifelong learners. We are aware that the evolving educational landscape reflects the need for education and learners, alike to adapt to a dynamic and multi-faceted approach to education.
The focus is on a comprehensive approach to the learning process right from the Pre-school level up to the Secondary stage. The contents of the textbooks are being taught to the students through the experiential teaching process. The methodology of teaching covers wider aspects of an integrated process including inquiry-based learning, collaborative teaching -learning process and paradigm shift from rote learning to critical thinking. It seeks to cultivate a cognitive mind-set that can seamlessly establish connection between causes and efforts.
It helps to cultivate a scientific temper and outlook among the next generation students, with the ultimate goal of shaping well rounded individuals who possess the capacity to truly affect meaningful change in the world.
It rightfully acknowledges that, merely imparting information without encouraging critical thinking inhibits a student’s true potential to grasp complex concepts and develop a deeper understanding of the subjects.
Through inquiry-based learning students are no longer confined to a passive role as recipients of knowledge, instead, they become inquisitive seekers and investigators, delving into various subjects with a sense of ownership and enthusiasm allowing them to explore the subjects in a more meaningful and impactful way for critical thinking, problem solving and innovation. The mission is to encourage a holistic approach with a view to developing the overall personality through different teaching processes covering activities, displays, visual aids etc.
The overall aspect of the curriculum is child centric related to the respective age profile, with thrust on collaborative learning, critical thinking, concept-based teaching learning processes, problem solving capacity and decision-making ability.
